This video is from one of eight DVDs of the Sydney World Shakuhachi Festival 2008 (WSF08), created by Lindsay Dugan and produced by Riley Lee. In this video, Tamuke 手向 (Offering) is performed by all of the participants of WSF08, on stage and in the audience at the City Recital Hall in Sydney. The performance was led on stage by the Komusō Society and three WSF08 performers, Teruo Furuya, Kazushi Matama and Kaoru Kakizakai. This series of videos allow us to relive some of the main concerts and workshops held during Sydney’s World Shakuhachi Festival 2008. These Festivals are the largest international gatherings of shakuhachi performers, teachers, players and students in the history of the shakuhachi.
